A Christ-centered Cattle and Equine Ranch
Horse Training
with Jennifer & Katie Cruise
All Rafter 7C Ranch horse training is done by Jennifer Cruise, a graduate of the University of Findlay with a Western Equestrian Studies degree, and her daughter, Katie Cruise, an experienced colt-starter and problem-fixer.
Training Regimen:
-
Your horse will be trained according to the Ranch's monthly program and will be focused toward your individual goals. The first two weeks your horse is here they will be worked on the ground in order to build endurance, get in shape, and to be overall evaluated for their training. After that, the horse will be worked 6 times a week (during 1 or 2 sessions a day ranging from 30 minutes to an hour and a half)
-
Whether your horse is just starting out and needs all of the basics (including foals and yearlings for ground manners), or you have specific behavior issues you would like to have solved, or you have show ambitions (we have trained horses for ranch horse competitions, roping, barrel racing, dressage, and intro jumping, trail riding, and other events), we can meet your horse training needs.
Price:
-
Training costs $800 per month with a 2 month minimum sign up. It is due at the first of every month and includes training and board. Your horse will be stalled 1/2 a day and pastured the rest (owners preference if with other horses or not).
Where:
-
All training sessions are held at the Rafter 7C Ranch Facilities, which include a 120x250 competition-size outdoor arena, a 60x120 covered arena, and many miles of trails to train on.
Owner Lessons:
-
Part of Rafter 7C's training program is that we want you involved in it - not just your horse. In order to do this we encourage you to use your two free lessons each month to come watch, ride, and/or learn more about your horse's progress. Additional lessons are available for an additional fee.
